Mandolin for sale
Used Pancake mandolin #228 $1200 (includes case)
This mandolin is based on the Gibson Army Navy mandolins that were made by Gibson from 1918 to 1922, but it has natural wood colours on the top rather than brown. It does have a few modern improvements such as carbon fibre in the neck and an adjustable Brekke bridge as well as a bit more bracing and the top and back are bound. This one is one of the nicest (both in appearance and sound) pancake mandolins I have made and is the only one made with Gidgee back and sides. The owner is selling to trim the herd so he can buy a Classical Flattop mandolin. Excellent condition.
Woods are Red Spruce top, Gidgee back and sides, Blackwood neck, Myrtle bindings and Ebony fingerboard. Top of the line Rubner tuners and cloud tailpiece. Comes with a case.
Note - These mandolins are build light so strictly light strings only.
