Octave Mandolin for sale
Octave Mandolin #327 $4100 (includes case) **SOLD**
This octave mandolin is the first 4th generation flattop OM with points. It has a very lightweight top, with fan bracing topped with carbon fiber. The thinner top is about 30% lighter and gives more volume and improved tone. This OM is very resonant with huge sustain and a lovely rich tone. My first impression was wow, this OM is rather special. The 4th generation technology really works.
Woods are - Red Spruce top, Birdseye Maple
back and sides, Fiji Mahogany neck, Ebony bindings, Macassar
Ebony fingerboard (12in radius, 34mm wide at the nut),
22inch inch scale length, Schaller GrandTune satin pearl
tuners with Ebony knobs and solid one piece Ebony bridge.
The tailpiece cover is engraved Ebony, made in the worshop. Varnish finish.
The Lyon and Healy influence is obvious. Price includes a
modified banjo case.
Note: This octave mandolin cannot have an internal pickup
installed because of the way it is braced.
For my American customers, note that this octave mandolin
does not have any shell inlay. The fingerboard marker
dots are opal, and the headstock inlay is European Maple,
wood. There is no need for a USA import permit and
wildlife paperwork. Lacey Act paperwork may be
required.
