Mandolin for sale
Classical Mandolin #338 $5800 (includes case) **SOLD**
This mandolin is a reproduction of my 1980 Lyon and Healy symmetric A style. These are lovely sweet clear and delicate sounding mandolins, and sounds gorgeous when played with a light touch. Just like the original Lyon and Healy mandolins, it is particularly well suited for classical music, although other styles of music can be played on it. However, it is definately not a bluegrass mandolin.
Woods are, Top- European Spruce from the
Italian alps, back and sides - European Maple, neck -
Monduras Mahogany. Bindings are Ebony and the
fingerboard is Macassar Ebony (12in radius, 30mm wide at the
nut), 13 & 3/4 inch scale length, Schaller GrandTune satin
pearl tuners with Ebony knobs and solid Ebony one piece
bridge. It has a nickel plated custom made tailpiece. Varnish finish. It comes
with Thomastic strings installed. Price includes a case.
For my American customers, note that this mandolin does not
have any shell inlay. The fingerboard marker dots are
opal, and the headstock inlay is European Maple wood. There is no need for a USA import
permit and wildlife paperwork. However, Lacey Act paperwork
will probably be necessary.
Sound clips are coming.
